Private Yoga classes for adults

At Bright Hearts Yoga, our private yoga sessions are a chance to slow down, breathe, and receive a practice created just for you. Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the very first time, recovering from injury, or ready to deepen your practice, these one-on-one sessions offer a safe and supportive space to move at your own pace.

In a private class, there’s no need to keep up with anyone else. Instead, every session is thoughtfully tailored to your body, your goals, and your state of mind, helping you strengthen, release, and restore in ways that feel natural and empowering.

You might choose a single one-on-one session, or enjoy a semi-private class with a friend, partner, or family member. Sessions can be held in the comfort of your home, outdoors in nature, or within the calm, welcoming atmosphere of the Bright Hearts Yoga studio.

Is a private class right for me?

Our door is open to you wherever you are in your yoga journey. You might be new to yoga and keen to experience the benefits but not so keen on the public group setting.  You might be recovering from an injury, an illness, or a recent birth and need to take things at your own pace. You might be wanting to delve deeper into certain elements of yoga practice or philosophy that you find are not covered in group sessions. A private yoga class with Gemma is an invitation to reconnect with yourself, cultivate balance, and experience deep personal growth through conscious physical and emotional enquiry.

What is the difference between a private yoga class and a yoga therapy session?

A private yoga class incorporates breathwork, movement and conscious connection between body, mind and spirit. Its aims are around building strength, flexibility, balance and coordination as well as cultivating a steady mind and a deeper connection to oneself. A yoga therapy session, on the other hand, whilst it includes all of the above, has as its main focus the use of highly specific exercises and breathwork to target particular areas of the body. Yoga therapy draws on the principles of energy flow through meridians (similar to acupuncture or traditional Chinese medicine) to support both physical and emotional wellbeing. It can be used to alleviate a vast array of aches, pains and physical and emotional discomfort including back pain, digestive issues, asthma, diabetes, anxiety and depression. Yoga therapy is suited to both children and adults whereas a private yoga class is for adults only.

How do I know which session I should book?

Yoga therapy is a traditional, holistic healing system designed to bring the body back into balance through focused movement and conscious breath.  This might resonate with you if you have been struggling to heal from a particular physical or emotional issue for some time.  If you are not seeking to resolve a particular issue in your body, or if the idea of yoga therapy does not sit well with you (it is not for everyone), then book a private yoga class.
