In teaching children to breathe, move, and rest with awareness, we are planting the seeds of focus, compassion and self-regulation
At Bright Hearts Yoga, we want to empower children to take control of their physical and mental health from an early age. We believe that the key to doing this is introducing children to mindful movement, breathwork and proper relaxation (i.e. away from screens!) in a fun and engaging way.
Young children are naturally very good at being mindful. Anyone who has spent time with a pre-schooler knows how ‘in the moment’ they are when they stop to watch a caterpillar walking on a leaf or to experience the feeling of water on their skin.
However, the world today can move very fast. This can be confusing and exhausting for little humans. Now, children as young as 3 are experiencing anxiety, and on average, 1 in 5 young people will suffer from anxiety during their childhood. We think of yoga as a brilliant way of putting the brakes on and giving kids the tools they need to stay in control of their emotions and their bodies in spite of the noise around them.
Our classes are more than movement, they’re a foundation for lifelong wellbeing:
-
Tools to manage big feelings
-
Confidence, resilience & self-regulation
-
Improved focus, attention & self-control
-
Relaxation skills for better sleep & calmer days
-
Stronger immunity, digestion & energy balance
-
Improved coordination, balance, and body awareness
-
Enhanced teamwork, compassion, kindness & empathy
-
Non-competitive, creative, and fun play-based learning
Benefits for Children

Bespoke packages
We understand the administrative and financial challenges faced by childcare centres. This is why we don’t offer a ‘one-size-fits-all’ package, but we work with you to create a programme uniquely designed for your centre.

Educator wellbeing
Emotions are contagious. If the adults who care for children are stressed and overwhelmed, the kids are likely to fall into step. We know intuitively, as educators and parents, that we should look after our own mental health and wellbeing, but we very often don’t or can’t prioritise it. This is why we offer Educator Wellness days focused on yoga and mindfulness, primarily for the benefit of the educators themselves, but also incorporating tools that can be used with the children in the classroom

Health issues explicitly addressed
Our classes incorporate both traditional yoga poses and movements from meridian-based yoga therapy, a traditional medical system that brings the body back into balance. Classes are designed to feature postures that address common children’s health issues such as coughs and colds, gut problems and respiratory issues.helping to make little bodies healthier and more resilient to illnesses...

Fun and educational
We fully embrace the natural curiosity of kids and our classes are built on imaginative exploration, fun and learning. We love teaching children about their bodies and how they work, as well as the world around them. We tailor classes to the children’s specific interests, which might include anything from princesses to Spiderman to the Olympics!

Personal development
Yoga classes are a safe space where we work on connection with each other and with ourselves. At Bright Hearts Yoga, even from the earliest age, we place a strong focus on building self-esteem and confidence through affirmations, meditations and visualisations.

Free Trial Available
Experience the difference for yourself. We offer a complimentary trial session so your centre can see firsthand how kids (and educators!) benefit from Bright Hearts Yoga.
Research in Australia shows 1 in 7 children experience mental health challenges before the age of 14. By bringing yoga and mindfulness into early learning, we give children lifelong tools for resilience, calm, and connection.

We offer ongoing weekly sessions, yoga incursions and educator sessions.
